2 Plead Guilty in Miss. Chemotherapy Fraud Case Jul 13th 2012, 20:10 A cancer doctor and a billing agent have pleaded guilty to charges related to a scheme to dilute chemotherapy drugs as part of multimillion dollar health care fraud. Dr. Meera Sachdeva and Monica Weeks pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court in Jackson. Sachdeva founded Rose Cancer Center in Summit in 2005. Weeks was a billing agent. An office manager, Brittany McCoskey, pleaded guilty May 17 to one count of fraud and awaits sentencing. All three were indicted last August on charges including conspiracy and witness tampering. Authorities say the clinic diluted drugs and billed Medicaid, Medicare and insurance companies for more chemotherapy drugs than patients received. The clinic billed Medicaid and Medicare for about $15.1 million during the scheme. The clinic was shut down by the Mississippi Health Department.
