A 20-year-old Detroit man has been arraigned on charges of murder and assault with intent to commit murder in the shootings of three people and the wounding of a fourth in Flint.
The Flint Journal reports ( http://bit.ly/Pr01II ) that James P. Simpkins appeared via video Friday in district court.
Simpkins was arrested Wednesday after the early morning shootings. He called police to report that he had been assaulted and that two people were dead.
Prosecutor David Leyton said the shootings occurred during a house party after one of the victims "began to harass, taunt, tease Mr. Simpkins by saying, 'You're crazy' or something like that.'"
A 20-year-old Detroit woman who was choked and shot twice escaped through a window.
The Associated Press was unable to determine if Simpkins has an attorney.
