1. Lightning Kills 1, Injures 9 at NASCAR Race

Severe weather took a deadly turn on Sunday evening when one person was killed at ten were injured at the Pocono Raceway during a NASCAR race. The race was called because of rain, with only 98 of the 160 laps completed.

2. Mars Rover Comes in for Landing

NASA's $2.5 billion Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover landed on the surface of the red planet following an eight month, 352-million-mile journey. President Obama called the successful landing an "unprecedented feat of technology that will stand as a point of national pride far into the future."

3. Sikh Temple Shooter: White Supremacy Link Probed

The FBI is heading up the investigation into a mass shooting at a Sikh Temple near Milwaukee that left seven people, including the gunmen, dead on Sunday. Sources tell ABC News that the suspect had tattoos and that authorities were investigating whether he was a "skin head" or "white supremacist."

4. Ernesto Trudging Across Caribbean

Tropical Storm Ernesto is trudging across the Caribbean this morning, with winds whipping up to 50 miles per hour. The storm will strengthen today before moving into the Gulf of Mexico and likely coming ashore Tuesday night near the Belize-Mexico border.

5. 'Dark Knight Rises' Tops Box Office

"The Dark Knight Rises" topped the box office for the third week in a row, bringing in $36.4 million this weekend. The finale of the Batman trilogy has now made roughly $355 million domestically.
