1. Obama Accepts Presidential Nomination
President Obama officially accepted the nomination for president at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina last night. He outlined a list of second term goals for energy, education, manufacturing, national security and the deficit.
2. Isaac's Remains Fester Over Gulf
The remains of Isaac are still festering over the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center has lowered the odds of the system re-intensifying back to a tropical storm from 30 percent to 50 percent.
3. Hurricane Leslie Still Category 1

Hurricane Leslie is still a category 1 storm and is forecast to slide east of Bermuda sometime Sunday morning as a possible category 2 hurricane. Forecasts suggest that by that point the storm will have wind gusts near 100 miles per hour.
4. Economists Predict Robust Job Growth
The jobs numbers report for the month of August will be out this morning and it will be an especially important report coming just hours after President Obama delivered his address at the Democratic National Convention. Economists project that the economy added 125,000 jobs in August, a surprisingly strong number.
5. Chest Radiation Increases Breast Cancer Risk: Report
A report from the British Medical Journal has found that radiation to the chest, such as CT scans, mammograms and chest x-rays, greatly increase the risk of some women getting breast cancer. Exposure to chest radiation by women in their 20s for women prone to breast cancer increased the risk of getting the disease by 43 percent.
