Hiring in the Bay Area may be starting to heat up, according to a survey from the online job posting service Monster.com.

It tracked listings from its own site as well as other sources to find the cities with the highest number of open positions per worker.

The San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont region ranked second on the list. One reason may be seasonal hiring: Cities like San Francisco rely heavily on tourism. But in general, the survey says there is "robust" hiring in the private sector around the Bay Area.

Some standout industries are management, IT, business/financial and architecture/engineering.
