Fake Oral Sex Pic Stirs Outrage
May 25th 2012, 00:11

A doctored photo in this month's Hustler magazine depicting conservative commentator S.E. Cupp performing oral sex sparked outraged discussion on the ABC show "The View" today.

Whoopi Goldberg, one of the co-hosts of the daytime talk show, said that Cupp, who writes for the New York Daily News, is a "friend of 'The View,'" and that the picture in Hustler "is really going to piss a lot of you women off."

Cupp, 33, appeared in the audience and told the hosts that she was "horrified" when she saw the explicit picture. There was a disclaimer on the page saying that the photo was not real.

Larry Flynt, who published the magazine, said the photo was satirical.

Goldberg said that was not enough. "Whether you're conservative or a Democrat, this is not OK," she said on the show. "This is offensive. This is not the dialogue that we have when we disagree."

"It's not funny in any way. It's offensive and horrifying and we're sorry that they did," co-host Joy Behar said. "We know her for years. I love her. She's a darling girl and this is just disgusting."

Elizabeth Hasselback said that she had reached out to the National Organization for Women, but had not heard back from the group about the issue.

"I actually called the National Organization for Women today or shall I say, because they couldn't answer the phone and have yet to make a statement on this, the National Organization of Some Women, and, yet to get a response from them when they have jumped on other cases."

Cupp said that the photo was an explicit attack on her conservative politics. She is a commentator for Mercury Radio Arts, which is owned by Glenn Beck.

"I was horrified," Cupp said. "It was disgusting and, even though I didn't actually do that, by the end of the day, I felt ashamed as if I had. And knowing this photo will be out there forever. My children will see it when I have them one day. It's sad. I'm sad."

Cupp said she would likely not sue Flynt or Hustler because of "free speech."

She said she had received support from Planned Parenthood and Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown University graduate student who was lambasted by Rush Limbaugh as a "slut" and a "prostitute" for her support of the Obama health care mandate for providing contraception.
