Mich. Wildfire Prompts Closure of State Park May 26th 2012, 15:03 Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is closed because of a wildfire that has burned more than 17,000 acres. The fire, known as the Duck Lake Fire, is in Luce County, north of Newberry. State officials describe it as long and narrow, stretching 11 miles north to Lake Superior. Access has been tricky because there are few roads. The fire began Wednesday after a lightning strike. More than 40 structures have been threatened and six are lost. It's not clear whether they were homes or outbuildings.
