What's the moral of this story you ask?
Well, glad you asked. You see, we're not children. The shame game does not work. In fact, the more shaming and guilt the clowns try to impose on us the more dedicated we become. It's really a perfect circle. When they grow up and get off the streets, stop primping like little girls, glaring like rabid coyotes, puffing out their chests, flapping their hands like their fingers are on fire and spewing threats of all kinds like a Tourettes patient, well, when that happens the fun will be over for Neighborhood Watch and we'll move back to clean streets, safe schools and quiet households. Until then, well, you can see what happens - but only because they learn slow and only hard lessons work for a true clown.
