Women Found Dead in Submerged Car Worked on Yachts
Oct 7th 2012, 14:54

A business owner in the luxury boat industry says three women found dead in a submerged car at a Rhode Island shipyard were friends who worked on some of the world's finest yachts.

Peter Wilson is co-founder and co-owner of Newport-based MCM, which represents yacht owners. He tells The Providence Journal ( http://bit.ly/Tfo2Wg ) that Jennifer Way, Louise Owen and Femmetje Staring became close friends working in the yachting industry.

Police say the driver of the car they were found in Friday apparently missed a turn and the vehicle went into the water. It's not clear who was driving.

Way lived in North Kingstown and was a yacht manager at MCM. Owen was from Wales and Staring was from the Netherlands. Wilson says both Owen and Staring worked on luxury yachts.
