1. Israel Pounds Gaza With Dozens of Airstrikes
Israel says a bomb blast hits bus in Tel Aviv, wounding at least 10 people. Israeli aircraft pounded Gaza with at least 30 strikes overnight, hitting government ministries. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has returned to Jerusalem for another round of meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to try to work out a truce over the Israel-Hamas fighting.
2. Feds Charge Hedge Fund Manager
Federal authorities have announced charges against a former Wall Street hedge fund manager accused of making $276 million dollars off secret information about an Alzheimer's drug.
3. Hostess Fails to Reach Union Deal
Hostess Brands Inc. said late Tuesday that it failed to reach an agreement with its second-biggest union. As a result, Hostess plans to continue with a hearing on Wednesday in which a bankruptcy court judge in White Plains, N.Y., will decide if the company can shutter its operations.
4. Turkeys Living High Life in D.C.
Two lucky turkeys are living the high life at the W Hotel in Washington, D.C. "Cobbler" and "Gobbler" have been "good guests," according to the hotel manager. The two will travel to the White House today for the traditional turkey pardoning ceremony.
5. Taylor Breaks NCAA Scoring Record
Jack Taylor scored 138 points for Grinnell in the team's 179-104 victory over Faith Baptist Bible last night. His score breaks the NCAA scoring record of 113 points.
