1. Obama Offers Nation's Sympathy in Aurora, Colo.

President Obama offered the nation's sympathy to the survivors of the Colorado shooting on Sunday night after individually meeting with the families of the victims. He said that he comes to them "not so much as president as I do as a father and a husband." The president relayed in dramatic detail the story of one woman who saved her friend's life after she was shot.

2. Traffic Accident in Texas Leaves 12 Dead

At least 12 people are dead and another 12 injured after a traffic accident in Texas on Sunday night. The single vehicle accident involved a Ford pickup truck.

3. NCAA to Announce "Corrective Measures" Against Penn State

The NCAA will announce "corrective measures" against Penn State today in the wake of the child sex abuse scandal involving former football coach Jerry Sandusky. This comes after a report commissioned by the school found that coach Joe Paterno and other school leaders helped cover up allegations against Sandusky.

4. Austrian Court Outlaws Bells for Cows

A judge in an Austrian court has banned cows from wearing loud cow bells because the sound is preventing residents from getting sleep. The owner of a farm in the state of Styria argued that they were an Austrian tradition and helped calm the animals.

5. 'Vampire Diaries' Takes 5 Teen Choice Awards

"The Vampire Diaries" racked up five trophies at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night. Pop star Demi Lovato, who hosted the award show, says 134 million votes were cast for the ceremony which honors film, TV, music and sports stars.
