Gas prices are at their lowest since January 2012 â" and 19 cents lower than last July 4th.
2. Mexico Elects New President
Mexico appears to have a new president-elect today -- Enrique Peña Nieto and the Institutional Revolutionary Party won 38% of the vote, about 7 points more than his closest rival. PRI ruled Mexico for most of the last century until losing power 12 years ago.
3. Storm Kills at Least 3 People in North Carolina
Three people are dead and at least 40 are hurt after vicious storms hit North Carolina on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. A new round of storms are expected to slam the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states today. More than 2 million people in several states are out of power.
4. Whitney Houston Remembered BET Awards
Cissy Houston paid tribute to her late daughter Whitney at the BET Awards on Sunday night with a performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Mariah Carey also spoke about Houston saying "I miss my friendâ¦I miss hearing her voice and laughter."
5. Tiger Woods Inches Closer to Jack Nicklaus's record
Tiger Woods took home his third win of the year in a duel against Bo Van Pelt in the AT&T National on Sunday. Woods won for the 74th time on the PGA Tour.
