Police say a father who pushed his son to safety was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Philadelphia.
Investigators say the 43-year-old man was struck around 11 p.m. Wednesday after he shoved his 5-year-old son to safety on the heavily traveled Roosevelt Boulevard. The driver fled the scene but was stopped a few blocks away after an off-duty police officer dialed 911.
Authorities did not immediately release the name of the victims or the driver.
The crash remains under investigation.
