Mother of Wounded Security Guard Says He's 'Fine' Aug 16th 2012, 15:36 The mother of a security guard who was shot at the headquarters of the conservative Family Research Council says her son is "doing fine" and she's proud of him. Virginia Johnson tells The Associated Press she hasn't yet been to visit her son, 46-year-old Leonardo "Leo" Johnson, but she spoke to him Thursday morning by telephone from his hospital bed. She says he told her he "feels very well" before hanging up because doctors were coming in to check on him. She says she assumed her son was the victim as soon as she learned about the shooting, which happened late Wednesday morning. She says she's proud of him for helping to subdue the gunman even after he was shot in the left arm.
